The CERN Finance Club is a platform for students, post-docs, staff and friends of CERN interested in the world of finance to learn about the subject and become experienced in a wide range of financial topics.

Particular emphasis is placed on the quantitative side of finance, which will be especially appealing to those with a scientific background wishing to leverage their mathematical and computational skills and apply them within a new context. However, we are open to new topics from all areas and aspects of finance. Our past events included talks on:

• quantitative finance
• career transitioning from physics to finance
• personal finance
• investments (personal and institutional)
• tax declaration
• algorithmic tools in finance
• technology in finance (fraud detection, cryptography, AI etc.)

The CERN Finance Club recently launched a quantitative research team with the goal to explore fundamental concepts of quantitative finance, as well as give an opportunity to its members to improve their domain knowledge and gain hands-on experience. We seek support from industry leaders to share their expertise and provide guidance in our projects.
